Questions we get most

Still stuck? Call 650 834 9600 or write to Support@modernlights.com.

What is the difference between 2700K, 5000K and 6000K?

2700K is a warm amber glow that suits brick, wood and traditional facades. 5000K reads as clean daylight white and pairs well with modern stucco and dark siding. 6000K is the coolest and brightest, so it holds the most contrast from a distance.

Do I need an electrician?

Not necessarily. Hardwired sets run on low voltage through the 24W LED power source, which many homeowners connect to an existing exterior outlet. To avoid wiring altogether, the IP65 solar address sign charges by day and switches on by itself at dusk. Mounting service is available at checkout as well.

Which material should I pick?

ABS polymer costs less and is light enough for almost any surface, which makes it the usual choice for a quick curb appeal upgrade. Stainless steel is heavier, holds a sharper edge and stands up better to coastal salt and constant sun. Both use the same LED backing and the same mounting hardware.

Does mounting hardware come in the box?

Yes. Every set ships with screws, standoffs and a paper drill template so the spacing stays even. If you want the numbers to float on a finished backing instead of the wall itself, add a horizontal or vertical mounting plate.

Can I order a font or size that is not listed?

Yes. Send your specification through the personalized backlit house numbers listing and we will quote the custom run, including plaque layouts, letters and business signage.

Are these waterproof?

Every illuminated number on this page is built for outdoor use and sealed against rain and snow. The solar address sign carries an IP65 rating, which covers dust and water jets from any direction.
